Madam Lu Retires and Closes After 27 Years
The Chinese restaurant on Upper State Street, Madam Lu’s, has permanently closed as of September 30. Located at 3524 State Street, owner Mei-Jung Lu announced she’s ready to retire.
Born in Taiwan, Lu was introduced to the art of “Country Style Chinese Cooking” because her family owned a local restaurant. She believes this type of cooking sets her apart from other Chinese restaurants in town because of its down-home taste. Lu stated she is a staunch supporter of local fisherman at the Santa Barbara Harbor and exclusively purchases rockfish from them, according to their website…
