An early morning SpaceX mission from Southern California set a 1-year record for rocket launches from the Vandenberg Space Force Base.
A Falcon 9 rocket, SpaceX’s famous two-stage spacecraft, got off the ground Friday, Oct. 3 from its launch complex at the Santa Barbara County spaceport. Soaring over and beyond Southern California, the 230-foot vehicle then went on to deploy a batch of the company’s Starlink internet satellites into space.
