Altered BB gun at Newbury Park Target spurs response from authorities

A Grenada Hills man was arrested Oct. 26 after he allegedly entered a Newbury Park Target with a modified BB gun.

Ventura County Sheriff’s deputies were called to the store on Teller Road around 2:30 p.m. by a member of the public who reported seeing a person carrying a handgun in his waistband, said Capt. Jason Karol.

Multiple deputies responded to Target and found the man inside the store. Karol said the man, 26, apparently removed the orange safety tip on the BB gun…
