One person was killed and two others were injured early Friday when an SUV crashed down an embankment in the Meiners Oaks area of Ojai, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The crash was reported around 12:45 a.m. near Fairview Road east of Camp Ramah Road. CHP officers located the vehicle shortly after 1 a.m. on its side, down an embankment, authorities said.
Investigators said the driver of a Ford Explorer was traveling westbound on Fairview Road when, for reasons still under investigation, the driver failed to negotiate a left turn. The SUV crashed into a fence, rolled down an embankment, struck a tree and came to rest on its left side…
