California man dies after being swept into creek during storm

A man was found dead after being swept into a creek in Santa Barbara County during a rainstorm Saturday.

Just before noon, family members reported to Santa Barbara County sheriff’s deputies that a man had been swept into the rushing waters of the Maria Ygnacio Creek.

The man was driving near the 1100 block of North San Marcos Road when his vehicle became stuck on a flooded part of the road, the Santa Barbara Independent reported. When he stepped out of his car, he was washed away into the creek…
