Sheared Fire Hydrant Loses 250,000 Gallons of Water on North Kellogg Ave in Goleta

A vehicle crashed into a fire hydrant causing the loss of 250,000 gallons of water in Goleta on Monday, January 5.

Edhat reader Bob Hamber reported that around 9:30 a.m., the hydrant on North Kellogg Avenue at San Ardo Way was sheared off following a vehicle collision.

Hamber stated the male driver of the SUV shared that he went over the curb while turning around and didn’t see it as he was distracted by his coffee…
