The California Coastal Commission has raised concerns about the approval process after a federal agency authorized Sable Offshore Corp. to restart the Las Flores Pipeline System in Santa Barbara County.
In a December 23, 2025, letter to the Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration (PHMSA), which was uploaded by KEYT, the Coastal Commission noted that the state was informed about the Las Flores Pipeline restart plan and had ‘received a letter through other parties’ regarding Sable’s approval.
