Three suspects have been arrested in connection with the Wednesday morning burglary of a Carpinteria cannabis farm, according to the Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Department’s Public Information Officer Raquel Zick. The names of the suspects are not currently available, Zick said.
The cannabis farm is located on the 4500 block of Foothill Road, and deputies were dispatched to the area at 2:57 a.m. on Feb. 4 for a burglary in progress, according to a report from Zick. Before deputies arrived on scene, they were advised the suspects had fled in several vehicles. Shortly after, deputies received an additional report of a traffic collision at the intersection of Foothill Road and Santa Monica Road.
Deputies arrived on scene and discovered three suspects attempting to flee an overturned SUV. The suspects were removed from the vehicle and two were detained without incident; the third suspect was combative and detained after deputies deployed a taser.
