Ventura Housing Suit Settled: Livable Ventura, developers reach agreement on Two Eleven project

Leaders of a Ventura nonprofit with a goal of ensuring property developers follow established codes and respect Ventura’s culture and history are taking credit for lowering the height of three downtown housing projects.

Livable Ventura issued a Jan. 29 press release regarding the 94-unit, six-story Two Eleven project at the corner of Thompson Boulevard and Figueroa Street; the 80-unit, five-story Park Plaza project at Fir and Santa Clara streets; and the 52-unit Hawaiian Village apartment complex on Church Street which burned down in the 2017 Thomas Fire and is currently being rebuilt.

The group said they reached a legal settlement with the developers of Two Eleven, Daly Group Inc., after suing the company and city of Ventura over the project’s approval. A Ventura County Superior Court judge ruled against the nonprofit and the case was under appeal when the settlement was announced…
