Mother arrested for child endangerment in Ventura

Early in the morning around 3:30 a.m., Officer Monica Phinney saw a woman pushing a stroller in the roadway. It was 48 degrees, and the child was not dressed for the cold. The officer learned the child was the protected party in an active restraining order against the mother. The woman was arrested for child endangerment and contempt of court.

While waiting for the child’s father and Child Protective Services, dispatchers cared for the child by playing with him, giving him food, and keeping him safe. Corporal Alyse Quiroz held him while he napped until everything was resolved…
