Electric bicycles and electric motorcycles have not just caused issues on the road but also in parks across Ventura County, according to authorities.
Park authorities in Ventura and Thousand Oaks say there’s been an uptick in damage caused by e-bikes and e-motorcycles in recent months, as well as behavior that has caused conflict with regular parkgoers.
The Conejo Recreation and Park District, which includes parks in Thousand Oaks and part of Westlake Village, has seen damage to grass, turf and trails caused by e-bikes and e-motorcycles estimated to be about $50,000 in the last year alone, said Andrew Mooney, director of parks and planning for the district…
