The Mosquito & Vector Management District of Santa Barbara County has confirmed the presence of the Australian backyard mosquito (Aedes notoscriptus) in the Westside neighborhood of Santa Barbara. Five adult mosquitoes were found in a sample collected from a local residence, along with hundreds of fungus gnats.
