Staff from the Mosquito & Vector Management District are finding many clogged yard drains with stagnant water, which can attract mosquitoes. Neighbors are asked to check their drains and clear out mud, leaves, and other debris so water can flow freely.
If water cannot drain right away, mosquito dunks can be used to help control breeding. The District recently found the Australian backyard mosquito in the Santa Barbara Westside neighborhood.
