The Goleta Police Department will conduct a DUI checkpoint on Saturday, April 4, 2026, from 6:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m. at an undisclosed location within the City of Goleta. The checkpoint coincides with the unsanctioned Deltopia Event in Isla Vista. Officers will look for signs of drivers under the influence of alcohol or drugs to promote public safety and reduce impaired driving incidents.
Additional deputies will be on duty for traffic enforcement, and extended parking restrictions will be in place. The department reminds residents that impairment can come from alcohol, prescription drugs, or marijuana. Drivers are urged to plan ahead and use alternative transportation if they plan to drink or take medications that affect driving.
