On Friday, April 10, 2026, at 10:47 pm, officers were dispatched to the 900 block of Valecito for a report of a disorderly situation. Before officers arrived, the reporting party informed dispatch that she and her boyfriend, who had been drinking, got into an argument that became physical. The boyfriend had left the property, and she believed he had guns in his possession.
One of the officers on duty contacted the suspect by phone, later identified as Travis Pease, age 35, who had walked away from the property. It was unconfirmed if Pease had weapons with him and in an abundance of caution, a Reverse 911 alert was sent out to nearby residents to shelter in place.
Through continued conversation with Pease, the officer was able to determine he was walking up Prefumo Canyon Road and relayed that information to other responding officers. Pease was located a short time later and detained…
