Solvang’s tourism-driven economy remains strong but is showing signs of structural change, city officials said at the Santa Ynez Valley Economic Summit, where early discussions about forming a downtown business improvement district emerged as a central topic.
At the annual March summit hosted by the Solvang Chamber of Commerce, roughly 150 business owners, civic leaders and community members heard from local leaders, including a data-focused presentation by City Manager Randy Murphy outlining visitor trends, revenue shifts and long-term infrastructure needs across Solvang.
