Cooler Monday, tracking a moderate rain storm Tuesday

Storm clouds roll in and low pressure moves near the Central Coast Monday. This will cool temperatures off and produce gusty winds at times. No watches, warnings or advisories are on tap for today. Expect overcast skies and highs into the 60s for most microclimates. Small showers could begin tonight, but most modeling shows more meaningful rain Tuesday.

We begin the morning with moderate showers through San Luis Obispo County. In a timely fashion, the moderate band of rain will move down the coastline. Expect heavier showers by midday near Santa Maria and Point Conception and our rain to begin by lunch here in Santa Barbara. The rain then drops to Ventura and LA counties after 1pm. This will be a good soaking of rain and heavy downpours at times. Use caution when traveling on major highways. Winds are not up to advisory level but be aware of surrounding trees and palm fronds.
