GENTLY PLACING EVERY VINE… that is currently growing in the Golden State, end to end to end, all to measure some great and mind-boggling distance? We’re not sure that California’s famous vines could wrap around the planet several times or stretch to the moon and back again, though they are certainly numerous. But they just might connect the cities that are the celebratory sites of California Wine Festival, the large and lovely ode to the winemakers of the state and the fans who love to discover a marvelous new label, destination, vineyard, or vintage. Those cities in 2026 include Santa Barbara, where the festival will land in mid-July, and Huntington Beach, which is set to welcome oenophiles and a host of wineries in October. But up first, on April 24 and 25? It’s Dana Point, so make plans to stop by the beachy burg for the opportunity to sample a diverse array of libations.
THE BEACHSIDE WINE FESTIVAL… is the Saturday celebration, with “… hundreds of fine wines, regional craft brews and a dizzying variety of foods to sample including artisanal cheeses, breads, olive oil, chocolates,” and other goodies. Your ticket includes “all wine and food samples” as well as a glass to keep. As for the new setting? It’s Sea Terrace Park, a breezy spot roomy enough for the sizable and bustling tent village that is synonymous with the event. If you arrive on Friday in Dana Point, consider attending the Sunset Rare & Reserve Tasting at Laguna Cliffs Marriott Resort & Spa. Tickets are available for purchase through the event site, and details about the Dana Point sip-tacular, and what’s coming up in Santa Barbara and Huntington Beach, are right here…
