(KRON) — Evacuations were issued in a Novato neighborhood due to a nearby brush fire Tuesday afternoon. Residents of Albion Court, Silvio Lane, Briarwood Court and Sequoia Glen were told to leave immediately by the Novato Police Department.
As of 6 p.m., all evacuations — which lasted about two hours — have been lifted. Police have said it is safe for residents to return home.

As of around 4:30 p.m., forward progress on the blaze had been halted, according to Novato PD.
