A 32-year-old transient was arrested on suspicion of arson after a vegetation fire burned near Highway 12 in Santa Rosa on Thursday afternoon, authorities said.
Firefighters and police responded at about 2:23 p.m. to reports of a fire burning in dry grass between Highway 12 and the Joe Rodota Trail, just east of Fulton Road. The blaze grew large enough to affect traffic before crews contained and extinguished it.
