2 dead after canoeing incident in Marin County

(KRON) — Two people were pronounced dead after a canoeing incident Sunday in Marin County. According to the Marin County Fire Department, crews found the first person outside of Tomales Bay around 10:30 a.m.

The second person was found shortly after a mile north of Hog Island, officials said. The pair was together on an overnight canoe excursion.

The circumstances surrounding the deaths and what led to them are unknown at this time.
