The California Pickett Fire Destroyed $56 Million in Napa Wine Grapes — a Year Later Someone Has Been Charged and the Lawsuits Are Piling Up

On August 21, 2025, the Pickett Fire started near a stretch of Pickett Road north of Calistoga. It burned for 17 days across more than 6,800 acres of Napa County’s Howell Mountain wine country.
