SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) — Smoke may be visible around the San Francisco Bay on Tuesday as crews conduct a prescribed burn at Angel Island State Park, officials said.
According to California State Parks, the majority of the burn will take place on Tuesday, weather permitting. In total, crews with Cal Fire and the Marin County Fire Department will burn up to 260 acres of the 1-square-mile island.
“Many Bay Area residents are likely to see smoke from the burns from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on burn days, and some smoke may also be visible up to three days following ignitions,” California State Parks wrote in an advisory.
