(KRON) — Several schools in Petaluma were temporarily locked down on Wednesday after a student brought a gun on campus. According to Petaluma City Schools, three campuses were locked down at 11:15 a.m. after a report of a student with a gun on campus at Casa Grande High School.
District staff followed procedures and brought in law enforcement, which recovered the firearm and removed the student involved from campus. The Petaluma Police Department said it responded immediately, working with school staff to identify and locate the student.
Officers contacted the student and detained her. An investigation turned up a gun in the girl’s backpack. The gun was not loaded and there were no injuries connected to the incident, police said…
