Local Restaurants, Wineries Donate Food and Wine
The Sonoma Sherpa community is extending an invitation to the entire Sonoma Valley to join the Sherpa Club of Sonoma for an evening of food, love, and hope in support of Nepal flood disaster relief.
For generations, Sonoma has been home to a large, vibrant and deeply-loved Sherpa community who have become neighbors, friends, colleagues and family to countless Sonomans. Today, many members of this community are directly impacted by the devastating flash floods in Nepal, with loved ones facing unimaginable loss and hardship.
The level of loss in Nepal is almost incalculable, difficult to fully comprehend, particularly since it ranks around 145th, out of 193 countries, on the UN’s Human Development Index. Nepal’s GDP per capita is roughly $1,400. Recent estimates of flood damage have reached $2.7 billion and reconstruction costs are projected at $4.6 billion and climbing, in a country with a nominal GDP of $46 billion…
