Authorities arrested three teenagers in connection with a “gang-related” altercation Friday morning that triggered a lockdown at a high school in Healdsburg.
The verbal fight occurred outside the home of two people who were on their way to school when a car blocked their path, the Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office said Saturday. Deputies said a student exited the vehicle and confronted one adult, and the two exchanged “gang-related” insults.
A second vehicle pulled up and a teenage passenger got out, after which the adult retrieved a machete from his car to defend himself, according to the sheriff’s office.
