If spending $3 million to get a 2,000-square-foot house on a postage-stamp-size lot in San Francisco sounds like a ripoff, check out Santa Rosa, where there’s a house at that price that’s 50% bigger and comes with its own waterpark.
The 25-acre property at 1889 Riebli Road has a three-bedroom, three-bath, 3,400-square-foot home plus a backyard lazy river, waterfall built with river rocks, a waterslide, and walking bridges for dry passage from one side to the other. There are also chicken coops and pens for the pigs, sheep, goats, and llamas that lived on the surrounding ranch land.
The “resort-style” features alone accounted for more than $2 million in building costs, according to listing agent Laura Hall of Corcoran Icon Properties, just a fraction of what they would cost if the property were constructed today.
