A Familiar Storefront Gets a New Tenant
The 421 2nd Street address isn’t new to the cold-pressed juice business. It previously housed Juice House Co., the Bay Area chain that grew out of a Benicia yoga studio into five locations before shutting all of them down on April 4, as Hoodline reported in its piece on the Bay Area chain’s collapse.
Liquified Juicery’s founder, Ashley Comora, is a former San Francisco resident who relocated to the East Bay as a teen. She began building the business in 2018 and launched her first storefront in Richmond in February 2020, according to background from The Bold Italic. Comora began the process of turning the idea into a business in 2019.
Zero-Waste Practices and Regulatory Fine Print
The company maintains zero-waste practices, and its ethos extends beyond the storefront: leftover fruit and vegetable pulp gets donated to local farms and sanctuaries, and the company plants a tree for every customer order, according to Voyage Houston Magazine.
