Homeless Man With Several Warrants Arrested in Santa Rosa While Under Influence of Drugs

A homeless man with several warrants has been arrested in Santa Rosa by foot patrol deputies. On Sunday afternoon, a man quickly walked away from approaching deputies, and they noticed that he seemed to be under the influence of drugs. Misti Wood, PIO with the Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office, says the deputies detained the man who was agitated and refused to identify himself. He was identified as 30-year-old Alejandro Nunez-Chimal and was found to have six warrants for his arrest across five jurisdictions in Sonoma County. Once in the patrol car, Chimal became more agitated and wrapped a seatbelt around his neck causing deputies to remove him and place him in restraints. Chimal was arrested for the six warrants as well as resisting arrest and being under the influence of drugs.
