A Sonoma County man was killed last weekend after his vehicle went off a Marin County road, crashed into multiple objects and flipped. Thomas Wayne Powell, a 74-year-old from Cotati, was driving north on Highway 101 just before 4:45 p.m. Saturday when he lost control of his vehicle. The SUV rolled and came to rest on its roof. First responders found Powell unconscious and trapped in the heavily damaged SUV. He was pulled from the vehicle and medical personnel began life-saving measures. He was taken to a hospital by ambulance, but died shortly after. Officials said the roads at the time of the crash were slick from a recent storm.
