Mother unexpectedly goes into labor in rural California town; CHP helicopter flies her to hospital

In a dramatic and life-saving mission, the California Highway Patrol (CHP) Golden Gate Air Operations unit responded to a rural area in Sonoma County yesterday evening.

The urgent call came in for a mother who unexpectedly went into labor and subsequently gave birth, requiring immediate medical attention.

Upon receiving the distress call, the CHP coordinated to rendezvous at the scene. With time of the essence, the CHP helicopter executed a successful medevac operation, transporting both the mother and her newborn child to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital for urgent medical care.

Currently, they are under the care of medical professionals at Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital, where they are receiving the necessary treatment and support.
