A quiet evening in Petaluma took a harrowing turn on February 4, 2024, at 9:20 p.m. when Petaluma Police Officers responded to a report of a robbery and kidnapping in the vicinity of Shasta Ave.
According to the preliminary investigation, the victim was accosted in his driveway by two individuals dressed in dark clothing and ski masks. One of the suspects brandished a handgun during the encounter. The victim was then forced into his residence, where the assailants demanded money and proceeded to steal various belongings.
The perpetrators, both concealed by their attire, then directed the victim to drive them out of town in his own vehicle. The victim complied with their orders, driving to an undisclosed location off Stony Point Road. At that point, the suspects instructed the victim to stop the vehicle, after which they exited and fled the scene, police said.
The suspects are described as wearing black masks, gloves, and jackets, making their identification challenging at this time, police added. The Petaluma Police Department is actively investigating the incident and seeking any information that may assist in identifying and locating the suspects.
