California high school student accused of running firearms factory at his home

In a concerning turn of events, a 14-year-old male student from Montgomery High School was arrested on Wednesday, February 14, 2024, for suspected involvement in manufacturing firearms using a 3D printer. The arrest followed an extensive investigation by detectives from the Santa Rosa Police Department Gang Crimes Team, leading to the execution of a search warrant at the student’s residence in the 2300 block of Summer Creek Drive, Santa Rosa.

During the search, detectives uncovered alarming evidence, including a 3D printer, a lower receiver for a firearm, a partially completed firearm handle, ammunition, and gang paraphernalia. The latter consisted mainly of drawings and handwritten items that raised concerns about the student’s potential involvement with criminal activities.

The operation unfolded at approximately 11:00 am, and detectives acted swiftly to apprehend the student while he was attending classes at Montgomery High School. Plainclothes detectives discreetly coordinated with a teacher to remove the student from class before taking him into custody without incident. The student was subsequently transported to juvenile hall.
