The wife Sonoma County Sheriff Eddie Engram pleaded no contest Friday to felony driving under the influence stemming from her arrest last May, according to prosecutors.
Natasha Whittinghill-Engram pleaded no contest to DUI causing bodily injury, with an enhancement for testing greater than a .02 blood-alcohol level.
Whittinghill-Engram crashed her Tesla into the front of a home in the 5200 block of Beaumont Way in Santa Rosa In the early hours of May 20.
Before crashing into the home, the gray Tesla also hit a fence and a tree.
A resident of the home, a woman in her 50s, suffered minor cuts from shards of glass from the crash, said police. She was later transported to a local hospital.
Officers conducted a DUI investigation on the scene and determined that Whittinghill was driving under the influence, said police.
Her husband, Sheriff Eddie Engram, took to his Facebook page to announce her arrest.
“Last night my wife was involved in a DUI crash,” he wrote. “Her car hit a house, causing damage, and the one person inside the home was injured. As was appropriate, she was arrested and is facing DUI-related charges in the incident being handled by the Santa Rosa Police Department.”
