Petaluma police arrested a woman for possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell on Wednesday after she was found with what police believe was several grams of fentanyl, baggies, and two scales, among other things.
Police responded to a suspected theft in progress at Petaluma Village Premium Outlets at approximately 3:15 p.m. on Wednesday, where they ran a records check on the suspect, revealing she had a felony warrant from San Mateo.
The discovery of her warrant led to a search of her property, leading police to find 10.5 grams of suspected fentanyl, .9 grams of suspected methamphetamine, multiple small baggies, two scales, $97 and additional drug paraphernalia, according to the police department.
Two milligrams of fentanyl contain a lethal dose, according to the Drug Enforcement Administration, meaning the contents of the woman’s property could have potentially killed as many as 5,250 people.
The woman was arrested for her outstanding San Mateo warrant, possession of controlled substance with intent to sell, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of methamphetamine.
