Santa Rosa motel fire sends one to hospital, causes $200,000 in damage

A fire at a Santa Rosa motel sent one person to a hospital and left five rooms damaged and a sixth room a total loss, authorities said.

The Friday morning fire at the Motel 6 at 2760 Cleveland Ave. appeared to be accidental, though it is still under investigation, Santa Rosa Fire Capt. Bobby Banks said in a news release.

The fire was reported at 4:03 a.m. by multiple callers and firefighters arrived at the scene in under five minutes to find a “large volume of fire showing from the door and window of a first floor unit,” Banks said in the release…
