Cooperage Brewing Co. is opening 2nd location in downtown Santa Rosa

Santa Rosa brewing company Cooperage Brewing has its sights set on an expansion.

An application filed with the state’s department of Alcoholic Beverage Control shows that Cooperage is looking to move into 575 Ross St. in downtown Santa Rosa.

The 3,608-square-foot building was once the home of Santa Rosa Printing Co. until the early 2010s and has also housed a few art exhibits and installations in the time since.

Cooperage owner, Tyler Smith, said he began casually looking for a second location after recently hiring more help at the Santa Rosa Airway Court brewery and taproom.

Although he had not initially intended to open another location in Santa Rosa. he changed his mind after looking at the downtown building.

“I think the space has so much character,” Smith said. “It just fits our vibe.”

The second location will have a much different atmosphere than the original location, Smith said. He intends to eventually add an arcade area, pool tables and dart boards once the space opens, which he hopes will be by the end of the year.
