What’s behind the difference between Rohnert Park’s tally of homelessness and the county’s?

Rohnert Park Mayor Susan Hollingsworth Adams is proud of the work her city has done to chip away at homelessness within its borders. She points to the 82 homeless encampments the city closed down between 2019 and 2022; the 132 people who have found shelter in the city’s $15 million emergency interim housing facility, Labath Landing, which opened in 2022; and, the funds Rohnert Park, a city of about 44,000, has committed to help people move from the streets into housing, at least $3 million this year alone.
