North Bay Sees Record High Temps During October Heatwave

The National Weather Service confirms several daily high temperature records have been tied or broken during this more than week-long heatwave in the North Bay. Downtown Santa Rosa reached a high of 104 degrees on Sunday, unofficially breaking the old record of 102 degrees for the October 6th date, set 94 years ago. The NWS is working to verify the record. Napa State Hospital reached 103 degrees on October 2nd, breaking the old record for that date, set in 1980, by one degree. Santa Rosa was 102 degrees on October 1st, tying the previous record set on that day, also 44 years ago. The North Bay will remain under a heat advisory until eleven p.m., with temperatures of up to 100 degrees in the forecast. Santa Rosa is expected to top out at 99 degrees today.
