California highway at risk of being flooded by sea level rise to close for storm damage repairs

SONOMA COUNTY — Caltrans has announced overnight lane closures on State Route 37 (SR-37) at Lakeville Highway for a storm-repair project. Scheduled from Sunday, Nov. 17, to Thursday, Nov. 21, the closures will take place each night from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.

The work involves essential road repairs, including grinding, paving, striping, and electrical loop updates. Both eastbound and westbound lanes on SR-37 will be closed at varying times, with one-way traffic control implemented on Lakeville Highway.

Drivers using Lakeville Highway will follow a detour, turning eastbound onto SR-121, making a U-turn, then rejoining westbound SR-37 before turning onto Lakeville Highway.

Caltrans will activate changeable message signs to keep the public informed. All work is weather-dependent.
