(KRON) — The Petaluma Police Department is trying to identify a man who committed an assault early Sunday morning.
The incident, initially reported to police as a fight, happened in front of The New Yorker pizza restaurant at 3 Petaluma Blvd. at about 1:52 a.m.
The victim was knocked unconscious and severely injured, police said. The suspect fled on foot. Police released two images of the man.
