Avelo Airlines, a budget carrier operating from Sonoma County Airport in Santa Rosa and Hollywood Burbank Airport, is implementing change and cancellation fees, The Points Guy reported. Starting March 7, passengers altering their plans will face fees based on their total trip cost, including airfare and add-ons like baggage and seat selection.
The charges will be 25% for changes made 8-60 days before departure, 50% for 1-7 days, and 75% for cancellations within 24 hours. Travelers will receive a trip credit minus the fee. Avelo is also launching AveloFlex, a $5 per segment add-on that waives these fees. Additionally, the airline plans to introduce a loyalty program and co-branded credit card soon.
