Sea Lion decapitated in California, $20,000 reward offered

( NewsNation ) — The National Marine Fisheries Service is offering a five-figure reward for information leading to a criminal conviction or civil penalty regarding the decapitation of a California sea lion.

The animal was found dead on Dec. 25 at Doran Regional Park in Bodega Bay, California. Later in the day, the sea lion was decapitated, per a NOAA release .

An eyewitness described a suspect seen as around 30 to 40 years old, dressed in all black and riding an e-bike.
