‘Devastating loss’: 4 high schoolers killed, 2 seriously hurt in Marin County crash

Four high school students died and two others were seriously injured in a single-vehicle crash in unincorporated Marin County, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The crash occurred on San Geronimo Valley Road just west of Sir Francis Drake Boulevard around 7:30 p.m. Friday, when a westbound Volkswagen Tiguan veered off the road and crashed into a tree. The Tiguan is a sport utility vehicle that can seat up to seven people.
