Forest road work day
I needed to keep at the getting rock on the road as the ground is drying out fast and so the rock mix of dirt and rock won’t pack in if it gets too dry. Some of the rock is already too dry so I’m a bit concerned about that. I had to add some wetter dirt to the road to settle the rock down in some spots.
I brought some dirt and rock into this spot and spread it out like this along this area. This area isn’t steep like the rest of what I want to do today.
I put some of this drain rock that the park guys got for me in a couple of the water ditches that cross the road.
Break time
I stopped by this big redwood stump to take a break about half way into the day.
Steep part rocking
I spent most of the day putting the dirt rock mix on this steep part of the road. This part of the road is so steep, it really needs to pack in so the cars don’t spin out going up this hill. It’s really a four wheel drive road. It’s the steepest part of this road. I was able to finish off this steep part by the end of the day which turned out to be a good thing.
Trouble
Just as I was finishing up and heading back up the hill to park Skiddy a problem developed. When at full throttle, the machine would sorta buck as it went to idle momentarily and then speed back up. Bucking I’d call it. It did it often as I headed back up the hill to where I park Skiddy. It acts like it’s low on fuel but the gauge is reading one quarter of a tank and the machine is too new to have clogged fuel filters and I keep my fuel supply really clean.
I checked for error codes and there were no active ones so for now I’m at a loss for what is going on. It did have an error code in the inactive section that I need to find out what it means. I’ll have to take some paper and pencil up there tomorrow and the repair manual to try and figure this out. I will be fueling it up also. I’m hoping the problem will disappear, but not likely…
