Santa Rosa boy struck by vehicle remains in critical condition

(KRON) — A 14-year-old Santa Rosa boy remains hospitalized in critical condition after he was struck by a vehicle on Saturday night, according to authorities.

The Santa Rosa Police Department received several 911 calls at 10:20 p.m. reporting the pedestrian-vehicle collision near the intersection of College Avenue and Beaver Street. The driver of the involved Honda Pilot also called dispatch, according to SRPD, and told police that the boy she struck was still down in the roadway.

Arriving police officers and Santa Rosa Fire Department paramedics found the boy unconscious in the westbound lanes of College Avenue, authorities said. The boy was rushed to a local trauma center with life-threatening injuries.

The driver was cooperative with the investigation and police said there was “no indication that she was impaired or under the influence of alcohol or drugs.” She told the crash investigators that she was traveling westbound on College Ave. and struck the boy who entered the roadway from the north side of the street, SRPD said…
