(KRON) — The Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office said a known gang member refused to cooperate with narcotics detectives and deputies during a probation search at his home. When authorities finally entered the residence, they said the suspect was caught trying to toss a loaded high-capacity out of a back window.

SCSO said Juan Cardenas was taken into custody on Monday and a further search of his home uncovered “an additional magazine, a loaded firearm and gang-related paraphernalia.”
“The firearm was found in an unsecured location accessible to Cardenas’ children, posing a significant safety risk,” added the sheriff’s office.
Cardenas faces several felony charges, including possession of ammunition and a firearm by a prohibited person, concealing evidence, child cruelty, obstructing peace officers, and violating probation. He was booked into county jail where his bail was set at more than half a million dollars…
