Driver dies when vehicle overturns down embankment near Santa Rosa airport

A man died in a single-vehicle crash near the Charles M. Schulz Sonoma County Airport over the weekend, law enforcement officials said.

The crash occurred on North Laughlin Road in Santa Rosa after the driver lost control of his sport utility vehicle, veered off the road, struck a concrete support and overturned down a 12-foot embankment, the California Highway Patrol said.

The driver was found inside the vehicle just before 10 a.m. Sunday and pronounced dead at the scene. The CHP is investigating the exact time of the crash, which it believes may have occurred between Saturday afternoon and Sunday morning…
