Nothing says summer like bingo and buried artifacts

The late afternoon sun reflects off the majestic redwoods surrounding my airy cyber-hut. Green hills are turning brown as official summer is imminent as I write this. My dear husband Gregory and I got married on the summer solstice — 55 years ago!

Community Club events and announcements

The Cazadero Community Club is busy these days. The next monthly meeting will be held Wednesday, July 2, at 6 p.m. at Firehall No. 1. Do come and join your neighbors in planning events that benefit the entire community. Interested in history? Email about the Cazadero time capsule at [email protected]. It is being prepared for the Old Time BBQ in 2026, which alternates with this year’s pancake breakfast and Hometown Days. More on that later. I believe that club member Sally Johnson will be helping with this.

Bingo night and club dues

The upcoming bingo night is Saturday, July 5, at the Firehall and begins at 7 p.m. Lots of fun for all! Tickets for the pancake breakfast are available at the Cazadero General Store —$15 for adults and $12 for kids. You may send dues for the club to P.O. Box 3, Cazadero, CA 95421 — only $25 for families or $15 for individuals.

Congrats to Camp Royaneh on its 100th birthday here in Cazadero!

A reminder that the Redwood Empire Food Bank will be in downtown Jenner, adjacent to the C Store, each second Wednesday of the month from 11 a.m. to noon. The helpful volunteers from the Jenner Community Club will place the groceries and fresh produce directly into your vehicle.

Local businesses and openings

Good news — Cazadero Supply is now open Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. That gives you more time to purchase items for your home, garden and vehicle projects…
