Napa Co.: Father Charged With Homicide, Dui After 10-Year-Old Son Dies In Crash

A man whose 10-year-old son died when he crashed after allegedly driving drunk has been charged with multiple felonies including vehicular manslaughter, the Napa County District Attorney’s Office said Tuesday.

Aaron Kennedy, 35, of Angwin, was allegedly driving under the influence of alcohol Friday night when he crashed head-on into another vehicle on Chiles Pope Valley Road at Barnett Road in St. Helena. Kennedy’s son Aiden, who was his passenger in the vehicle, sustained fatal injuries during the collision and the driver of the other vehicle involved sustained minor injuries, prosecutors said.

In addition to the gross vehicular manslaughter charge, Kennedy, who has two prior DUI convictions, was charged with DUI causing injury, driving with a .08 percent blood alcohol content causing injury with a prior conviction, driving under the influence of alcohol and a drug causing injury, child abuse; the assembly, maintenance or placement of a booby trap, and one count of being an unlicensed driver…
